Allu Arjun not happy with “Arya 2” IndiaGlitz [Monday, June 29, 2009]

Stylish star Allu Arjun has many action blockbusters to his credit and each time he has been trying for something different. Meanwhile, he is giving finishing touches for his other venture “Arya 2” which is a sequel. However sources indicate that the star was not happy with the title of the flick. He is looking out for an alternative title for this flick directed by Sukumar. The movie also stars Kajal Agarwal, Navdeep and Shraddha Arya in the lead. The movie is expected to release in the month of August but the new title of the movie is yet to be finalized. Also, many say that this will not be a continuation of the original story but just another episode.

Speakers at the appreciation meet of Vengamamba said that the songs were a feast to the ears of the Telugu people after Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu. The songs of the film, produced by VMC Doraswamy Raju, were recently released. Chadalawada Srinivasa Rao, MVS Prasad, Mukthevi Bharati, Radhika Krishna, Ramakrishna, Mada, Ananth, Udayabhaskar, MM Keeravani and JK Bharavi took part in the meet. Story writer Bharati thanked producer Doraswamy Raju for making Vengamamba both as a feature film and on the small screen. Highlight of the film was that the songs would depict the life and times of Saint poet Vengamamba in a lucid manner. TTD former Executive Officer MVS Prasad said that the music of Keeravani consisted of both melody and folk with a lot of feel for devotion. Director Udaybhaskar said that Vengamamba was not a mere devotee of Lord Venkateswara. “She was the first woman who strived for the uplift of the women during her times. There are 21 songs in the film.” Keeravani said that the album got tremendous response. “I am thankful to the director and producer for giving me this opportunity to once again give a devotional album after Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu.” Popular writer JK Bharavai said that Tarigonda Vengamamba reflected the urge among women for justice in society. The film is going to release in the second week of July.

London News : No Salman Khan for Katrina's birthday?

Mumbai, June 29 (IANS) After last year's bad experience, Katrina Kaif has decided to celebrate her birthday with her family in London. The actress is looking forward to meeting her family, but didn't reveal whether beau Salman Khan will be with her or not.

Katrina will turn 25 on July 16 and this time the actress, who is said to be under a lot of external and internal pressure, is determined to make her birthday a happy, stress-free and comfortable occasion.

Katrina will take off for a rare full-family reunion in London this July, to coincide with her birthday. She doesn't confirm the birthday, but admits that she's planning a holiday with family in July.

'I've been burning the midnight oil to make myself free for my family. I'm exhausted and stressed. And I can't wait to go home. Though I've met parts of my family on every visit home all of us eight siblings have not been together in nine years... can you believe it! I really want to do this,' Katrina, who has earned rave reviews for her performance in just released 'New York', told IANS.

Katrina is the middle sister among the seven girls of the Kaif family. She has always been the apple of the eye and it was very traumatic for her to wrench herself away from the family cocoon in London and make a career on her own in Mumbai.

According to close friends, Katrina was petrified of the isolation here. That's why when Salman Khan's family took her in their fold, she was indebted to them.

Last year Salman created a major embarrassment for her by picking up a fight with Shah Rukh Khan.

After the incident, is Katrina trying hard to gently move away from her adopted family?

'I'm just so looking forward to being with all my sisters. My brother is also taking the time off to be in London for the first time in years with all of us sisters. I've been with some of my siblings in London. But never all. It's not holiday for me. It's a necessity. And nothing can stop from making it happen,' she said.

The actress' popularity soared after the success of 'Namaste London' and 'Singh Is Kinng'.

Already we have prepared the script with the title Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy”. Not only by Paruchuri but this was also expressed by Nagababu, Pawan Kalyan, VV Vinayak, SS Rajamouli, Srikanth etc to continue in films. But Chiru stated that, he was not committed any thing and it depends on the time and fate in future. If all goes possible he will definitely come forward.

Actress Shriya Saran’s Mission Istanbul has bombed at the box office, but she is happy with the way her career is shaping up.

From music videos to Tollywood to the Hindi film industry and now Hollywood, she has been climbing the ladder of success.

Back in the city for the shooting of a Tamil film Kandaswami, Shriya says, “Hyderabad is like home to me and it feels great to be here. I was at the Poison launch party and met up with all my old friends after such a long time.”

Disappointed with the failure of Mission Istanbul?

“When a film doesn’t do well, it is natural that you will feel bad. But the important thing is I have given it my 100 per cent and have worked very hard for the film,” she says.

When asked what she felt went wrong with the film, she replied, “It’s not right for me to comment on this. A film is a by-product of the energies and efforts of a lot of people. On hindsight, you can point out many mistakes, but you can never be sure about the fate of a movie from before it releases.”

Talking about her recent Tamil film, Shriya says that though it is a commercial movie, it has a poignant social message. “The film is about the economic disparity in the country — how the rich are getting richer while the poor are becoming poorer. Sushi Ganeshan is the director while Vikram is my co-actor. I had a good time doing the film. It’s a commercial film but at the same time deals with a topic that is so true of India.”
